How to: Convert third-party application file to an Excel file.
Solution:
Select 'Open...' from the 'File' menu, select type of file to convert from, select the filename, and click 'Open'.
1) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The Open dialog box appears.)
2) Select the type of file to convert from the 'Files of type' drop-down list.
3) Type the drive where the original worksheet file is located in the 'Look in' drop-down list box. (A list of all the folders and files within the drive is displayed.)
4) (Optional) Open the folder that contains the file.
a) Select the desired folder. (The folder is highlighted.)
b) Click 'Open'.
NOTE: If the desired document is in one of the subfolders, repeat Step 4) for the subfolder or subfolders until the name of the file is displayed.
5) Select the filename. (The filename is highlighted.)
6) Click 'Open'. (The worksheet appears in Excel.)
